Cycling is regarded as one of the most effective ways for people to exercise their bodies. It is a wonderful way to improve one’s respiratory health and helps one to stay fit. Cycling helps to reduce carbon emissions and helps make the planet a better place to live. In light of this, Premier International IB World School arranged a ‘Bicycling event’ as a weekend activity on June 11th, 2022.

The activity was only for MYP students (students of grades 6-10). The purpose of holding this great event for the students was to encourage their physical and mental development of students and for them to do something beneficial in their spare time. It was also to provide various other platforms for them to participate in some other weekend fun activities other than academic-based activities offered by the school. A total of six students took part in this activity; where all students were expected to have a geared bike, and those who did not have one had the option of renting a bike and helmet for a certain amount. This physical exercise was made possible with the assistance of Mr. Rupesh Shrestha, proprietor of ‘Epic Mountain Bike’ located in Jhamsikhel, Kathmandu.

Mr. Khazu Singh Thakuri, the School’s ECA (Extra Curricular Activities) and CCA (Co-Curricular Activities) coordinator, was there at the venue to escort and assist the students with the riding.

In the end, the cycling event was an enjoyable and amazing venture for all the participants. The event not only created an exciting and pleasant environment for the kids and the school, but it also served to increase awareness of sports and physical activities in the minds of both participants and viewers in the school. This type of activity would be held regularly to bring a positive change in everyone.
