Since 1974, World Environment Day has been celebrated as an annual event on the 5th of June to improve awareness and understanding of the importance of a wholesome and green environment in people’s lives. Premier International IB World School following its tradition organizes an Environment Week for students to understand more about the current status of the environment and take action in saving the planet.

The Environment week officially began on May 31st, 2022, and concluded on June 3rd, 2022 with various fun activities organized by the school. Each day, a separate activity was held amongst the students from grade one to grade 10 centralizing on the theme of the environment.

DAY ONE: The official start of the environment week began with the first competition among the students on poster making, with the theme “Only One Earth.”  This activity showcased the intelligence of the student as well as their creativity.

DAY TWO: On the second day, there was a “Dustbin” making competition, where children of different grades used their imagination to design their dustbins and garbage cans from waste materials.

DAY THREE: On the final day, the “Trash to Treasure” theme took place in which they recycled waste materials such as cardboard, plastic bottles, and old chips and turned them into usable items, demonstrating how various unused materials can be recycled into valuable items.

With everyone’s tremendous participation and dedication, the annual Environment Week 2022 was successfully concluded. It was a joyous event as all the students participated wholeheartedly and got to learn more about the environment and the ills that befall it. The school hopes that by educating kids about the environment, they will contribute to its preservation.
