Premier International School admirably considers the quality of education for students, and therefore helps direct students’ learning pathways and develop the skills and confidence they need to make a lasting difference. This has helped students build a strong reputation for successful outcomes that uplift the entire community. Premier has partnered with Karkhana, an educational company in Nepal, for an inclusive and technologically-friendly learning experience for all students.
Karkhana believes in the importance of a “4C Education” (communication, collaboration, creative thinking, and creativity) because it helps students achieve their full potential. Premier and Karkhana have been partnering for years now in various ways to assist students in learning using technical equipment and allowing them to become familiar with technologies. Karkhana has been helping launch various programs and learning projects for the students of Premier International School such as ‘STEAM’ (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) which has helped students broaden their horizons. It has also initiated various learning projects in Nepal to change the education system of Nepal. The recently developed “Makers’ Space” in Premier was designed to create a safe and open space for students to work on their ideas, prototype them, and experience an engaging, hands-on learning environment.
Mr. Sagun Khadka, the Sales Director of Karkhana, and Mr. Pabitra Bahadur Gautam, the Co-founder of Karkhana, were involved in the initial dialogue with the school management and the school’s Design Teacher, Mr. Bibek Shrestha, for the collaboration process. In addition, Ms. Samaya Khadka, Ms. Kadambini Thapaliya, and Ms. Binista Adhikari were involved in the physical setting of the Makers’ Space and the 3D design of the area. As the project evolves over the next few years, it will continue to give students a safe place to think, create, collaborate and communicate concepts relevant to the times.
