Premier International School has now become an IB Continuum School, which means it now offers three of the core IB programs such as Primary Year Program (PYP), Middle Year Program (MYP), and International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP). All these programs are philosophically aligned and consistent in their approach to teaching and learning. The IB Continuum School accreditation has made Premier Nepal’s first and only IB Continuum School. It should be noted that the International Baccalaureate (IB) is recognized by more than 150 nations worldwide as a higher academic standard curriculum that provides children with a high-quality education.
The school held a grand function on 10 June 2022, to celebrate being awarded an IB Continuum School. The event took place from 1:15 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the school’s auditorium hall. The school’s Principal, Mr. Niladri Shekhar Parial, was invited to officially start the celebratory event. In his opening remark, Mr. Niladri highlighted the endeavors and success of Premier International School with foresight. He mentioned that the importance of high-level education is paramount to the development of a country and the region.
Following the opening speech, the students of grades 7, 8, 9, and 10 displayed beautiful performances to the audience showing their talent in cultural dance and music. Likewise, Shourya Shrestha and Prayash Rai played the guitar and sang a song by Jason Marz called “I’m Yours.” The MYP students’ choir performed Bipul Chetrri’s famous song “Aashish”. All the performances were interesting and kept the crowd excited all the time. Subsequently, Ms. Pravina Thapa, the Academic Director was joined by the Chief Operating Officer (COOs), and other senior members of the school to unveil Premier’s new logo. Ms. Sharmistha Acharya Mukharjee, Senior High School (SHS) & Diploma Program (DP) Coordinator, was called on to shed some additional insight on a plan that completed Premier’s continuum logo.
Ms. Pravina later took the stage and shared the difficult journey the school faced while pursuing an IB Continuum School Accreditation. She also expressed her gratitude to all the guardians for their trust in allowing their children to attend an IB Continuum School as Premerians. Finally, Mr. Basant Thapa, the Managing Director of the school gave a closing remark with a vote of thanks and acknowledgments to key stakeholders for their support of this remarkable achievement. Hence, Premier is now the first and only IB continuum school in Nepal.
