On 16th April 2022, an important event took place in the school, which is the Community Project Closing Ceremony for grade 9 students. As one of the requirements in the IB MYP Program, community projects and personal community service projects are of great significance for students to graduate to a higher level. Community projects enable and provide students with the opportunity to become active members of their community and have a lasting/positive impact on society at large. The event was based on all the combined services that the students had done for the past 6 months and more. To give an official closure to their service year and portfolio with IB traditions and certification, a charity dinner that aimed to collect an amount of money for fundraisers and charity service was held at the school’s auditorium.

The event was divided into various segments of speech, presentation, issuing of certificates, and acknowledgment. It started with the national anthem, the introduction of guests, and displays of the project work done by the 14 groups in the form of videos, poems, and speeches. All the groups highlighted their determination to serve and give back to society despite the difficulties they encountered following safety protocols during the pandemic, and this was followed by other presentations. The guest of honor Ms. Anuradha Koirala who is the founder and director of a non-profit organization, Maiti Nepal which addresses several social issues such as girl trafficking, harassment, and others, gave a heartwarming speech at the event. She is also one of the most prominent personalities in Nepal who won the Padmashree and CNN Hero awards. The event had a different charm with the presence of Ms. Koirala. A very significant part of the entire program was the Peace Award ceremony where students who embarked on independent community service projects got awarded. Nine students were awarded, comprising both PYP and MYP students. Furthermore, all the students of grade 9 were issued certificates and the event came to an end with a closing speech by the school Managing Director, Mr. Basant Thapa.

The charity dinner was one of the most important events of the year, and a legacy set by the batch of 2022, which is to be followed by all the upcoming batches. A lot of strength, empathy, and confidence was displayed throughout the session by all the students. The event was attended by mentors, guests, parents, teachers, and the school management. It was a remarkable event for all students to experience and intriguing to see the students give back to society what they have been taught and what they have learned over the years.
