On 7 February 2022, as part of the ‘Professional Pathway’ program in Premier where professionals share insight on their corresponding profession, Mr. Punit Jajodia and Mr. Aadhar Sharma were invited as the panelists for the program. Mr. Punit Jajodia is a software engineer while Mr. Aadhar Sharma is a research engineer by profession. The event was planned and executed by the Student Activity Council (S.A.C) and moderated by Ms. Aadhya Acharya and Mr. Naman Rajgadia. Due to the pandemic, the event took place via Zoom. This program was designed for the students of grades 6 to 10 to provide them with knowledge about IT in this ever-evolving world.
The program started with the panelists giving a short introduction about themselves and their respective professions. The panelists seem to have great interest and passion in their work and have made successful careers out of it. According to them, IT is a never-ending path as one will always have something new upcoming to learn in the field. Mr. Aadhar Sharma shared with the participants how he had always dreamt of having a business that was innovative and how he has been successful in the field. He and his friends successfully designed a machine that destroys the RNA or DNA of CoronaVirus, which prevents them from replicating. Mr. Punit on the other hand talked about the hardest achievement of his career, which was ‘Programiz Pro’; an application/website which helps people learn coding from scratch. Towards the end of the session, Mr. Aadhar briefly discussed how people forget to apply the things that are taught in school and college very often. He also shared the importance of education in every career path there is.
At the end of the session, the floor was opened for a question and answer session where the students put out their queries which were addressed by the panelists. Finally, the certificate of appreciation was presented to both panelists for their valuable time. The participating students were acquainted with information on how IT works, and how one can build a passion for it while making it a side hustle.
